Challenging yet rewarding opportunity to assist with the daily operation and medical procedures of a small animal/exotic veterinary hospital. Duties and responsibilities are wide ranging and will include tending a variety of animals including pets and birds of prey, delivering medications, performing treatments, managing inventory, client communication, cleaning cages, general housecleaning and maintenance, and assisting in a variety of medical procedures. Skills in laboratory analysis, equipment maintenance, anesthesia, radiography, surgical assisting, dentistry, and managing the reception desk will be necessary. Applicants must be comfortable with handling and restraining animals, communicating with pet owners, and working as part of a team. Additional training for duties will be provided as necessary. Hours will range from 30-50 per week and will include occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed. Emergency on-call duty and overtime are occasionally needed. Compensation dependent on skills, experience, and attitude, but typically may start at $13-15 per hour.
